Firefighters were called to the apartment at 1442 Dorion, just east of Papineau Avenue, just after 6:30 a.m.
The fire started on the third floor and spread to the roof. It took 60 firefighters just over an hour to control the two-alarm fire.
"Nobody [was] on site when firefighters arrived," said Élise Breault, spokesperson for the Montreal fire department. "Nobody was injured."
The De Maisonneuve Boulevard entrance to the Jacques-Cartier Bridge was closed this morning but has since been re-opened.
