The network, which has rights to the next three World Cups and to the European Champions League through 2017-18, announced a five-year partnership Wednesday with the American Youth Soccer Organization. "Fox Sports 1" will be added this string to the right chest of AYSO jerseys, which have had AYSO logos on the left chest for a half century.
Fox will televise the Women's World Cup in June and this year began an eight-year contract with Major League Soccer and the U.S. Soccer Federation. It also has rights to England's FA Cup and in August will resume televising the Bundesliga, whose rights it had lost after the 2005-06 season.
"Jersey sponsors are part of the global soccer sphere," Lynn Berling-Manuel, AYSO chief marketing officer, said in a statement released by Fox. "It's the same way viewers can see sponsored jerseys when they watch the biggest teams in the world play on FOX Sports 1, and we are excited about this sponsorship bringing an unparalleled level of sports and soccer credibility to AYSO and its nearly 900 community soccer programs."
AYSO has more than 50,000 teams and 500,000 players, according to its website.
