Watch Rima Karaki Shut Down The Sheikh Who Told Her To 'Shut Up'

“Either there is mutual respect, or the conversation is over,” she said, and his mic was cut off.

A Lebanese TV host is getting global attention after she cut off an interview with an Islamist scholar who told her to “shut up.”

Rima Karaki, a journalist and university professor, told Sheikh Hani Al-Sibai “either there is mutual respect, or the conversation is over.”

The incident happened during an interview regarding reports of Christians joining ISIS. Al-Sibai said Christians joining the terror group was “nothing new” and began discussing leftist groups of the 1970s, such as the Red Brigades in Italy and the Baader Meinhof group in Germany.

Karaki interrupted to ask him to “focus on the present.”

“At present, what slogans are used to attract [Christians] to these groups?” Karaki asked, bringing him back to the subject at hand.

Al-Sibai got upset, telling Karaki she shouldn’t cut him off. She explained that they had limited time left in the interview. That seemed to anger Al-Sibai even more, and he told her he would do what he wants.

“You think you are so high and mighty?” Al-Sibai said.

“In this studio, I run the show,” Karaki told him. “For your own benefit, I’m telling you that we are running out of time.”

Al-Sibai went on to ask Karaki, “Are you done? Shut up so I can talk.”

Karaki responded without missing a beat.

“How can a respected sheikh like yourself tell a TV host to shut up?

“Either there is mutual respect, or the conversation is over,” she said, and Al-Sibai’s mic was cut off.

Boom.
