Hope car crash leaves 3 men dead

Three young men are dead after their car crashed into a weigh scale building west of Hope, B.C. on Friday morning.

The trio had been travelling on the Trans-Canada Highway. It is not known how the car crashed into the Hunter Creek Weigh Scale around 4 a.m. PT.

Barb McLintock, a spokesperson with the B.C. Coroners Service, said all three men died at the scene.

"Obviously we're going to work closely with the RCMP and with their specialized crash investigation team to try and determine as best we can exactly what happened here and what led up to this," she said.

"But it's much too preliminary to say anything yet."

Police are asking witnesses to contact the RCMP's Fraser Valley Traffic Services.
