2 police officers among wounded in deadly Mississauga shooting

One person was pronounced dead at the scene and three people are in hospital following a shooting in the area of Queen Frederica Drive in Mississauga. 

Two of the wounded are Peel Regional Police officers, CBC's Tony Smyth reported from the scene.

One of the officers was shot, the other was stabbed. Both were taken to hospital with serious injuries, according to Peel Regional Police spokesman Const. George Tudos.

The shooting occurred at about 11 p.m. Friday, drawing a heavy police presence to the neighbourhood near Dixie Road and Dundas Street East.
