Bryant Realty

Some of the most interesting properties in our latest survey of the most expensive houses for sale in Canada are in some pretty unexpected places.

Those who believe you can only live the one-percenter lifestyle in big cities should check out the amenities at this property near Saint John, N.B., on the shores of the fittingly named Lake Utopia. How about a waterpark in your back yard?

And this is the view:

Two time zones away in Saskatchewan, a house for sale offers one of the most remarkable open-concept master bedroom suites we've seen in a while:

Here's the walk-in closet.

One thing to note is that some of these houses have been listed for some time, and have seen their prices reduced. That's certainly the case with this incredible Alberta property once owned by the Ford family of Ford Motor Company fame.

But it's not the case with this boarded-up house on Vancouver's west side, which continues to be British Columbia's most expensive publicly listed property for sale. But in B.C., as in many other markets, some of the largest home sales are done privately, such as the sale of this $51-million property in Vancouver's Point Grey earlier this year.

Here are the most expensive publicly listed houses for sale in Canada as of the end of March:
