Drew Miller, Red Wings forward, gets face sliced by skate

Veteran Detroit Red Wings forward Drew Miller received an awful scare (and likely a scar) on Tuesday night when the skate of Ottawa's Mark Stone struck him in the face, causing severe cuts around his right eye.

Miller, who wears a visor, rushed off the ice, and a photo later surfaced on the Twitter account @redwingsmemes showing him with several stitches across the right side of his face.

Miller reportedly suffered two "deep lacerations" around his right eye, but the eye itself was not believed to be injured.

The 31-year-old, who's the younger brother of Vancouver goalie Ryan Miller, is in his eighth NHL season and sixth with Detroit.
