Human trafficking probe leads to multiple Toronto arrests

Police conducted a series of early-morning raids in a large-scale human trafficking operation that has led to arrests in suburban Toronto.

Just after 5 a.m. ET Thursday, police in tactical gear and carrying automatic weapons jumped out of a series of rental trucks and entered multiple apartment buildings in the Jane and Wilson area and other locations in north and west Toronto, including Dixon Road.

The sex crimes unit is handling the investigation.

Police have called a 10 a.m. ET news conference for today. It's expected they'll provide more information about the arrests.
