Autopsy to be done today on man dead after shooting incident in Newfoundland

ST JOHNS, N.L. - An autopsy is planned today on a man killed in an incident linked to an investigation concerning an alleged threat to Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Paul Davis.The RCMP say the 59-year-old man was killed Sunday in Mitchells Brook, about 80 kilometres southwest of St. John's.The Mounties say a member of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary was in the area conducting an investigation, but won't confirm reports the officer was a member of Davis's security staff.A source close to the investigation tells The Canadian Press the RNC officer was investigating an alleged threat to Davis.The premier's office isn't commenting, and the RCMP aren't releasing the cause of the man's death until the autopsy is done.Police say no officers were injured in the incident.
