Peel police arrest 18-year-old after violent video surfaces online

Peel police have arrested an 18-year-old man in Brampton after a violent video surfaced online Tuesday afternoon.

The video appears to show a male slamming a young girl into the ground as a group of people watches.

The girl, who police say is 15-years-old, was knocked unconscious during the incident. The attack occurred around 4:20 p.m. on Wexford Drive.

A video of the incident was uploaded to social media shortly after.

According to police, the girl later regained consciousness and was taken to hospital. She has been released but suffered a concussion. She is expected to make a full recovery.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m., Peel police tweeted that 18-year-old Joshua Gordon was in custody "for the assault on Wexford Drive."
