Slaughtered Lambs Stolen In Edmonton Found In Saskatchewan

A van with the animals inside was stolen from the parking lot of a meat market.

Saskatchewan RCMP have likely not responded to a call like this.

Officers looking into calls of an abandoned van in North Battleford opened the vehicle doors to find it was full of slaughtered lambs, said an RCMP news release Thursday.

Police traced the dead animals to the Acme Meat Market in Edmonton, almost 400 kilometres away, reported CBC News. The van was stolen from the store's parking lot on Wednesday.

The carcasses were slated to be butchered.

The value of the lambs was estimated to be about $40,000.
