An 87-year-old woman was taken off the plane at the Shannon City Airport and arrested, according to a report by the Irish Times.
Al Hinnegan, a passenger on Flight AC 877, told CBC News he saw the incident from his seat.
"It took two or three of the attendants to subdue her and they were thinking about, I think, putting her in some kind of tether. And they did that because she was not having anything to do with them," he said.
2nd Air Canada incident
The flight landed at Toronto's Pearson Airport at 11:39 p.m. ET on Friday after a delay of about four hours.
It was the second incident on Friday involving an Air Canada passenger.
On a flight to Atlanta, a professional soccer player with the Ottawa Fury FC was allegedly attacked by a fellow passenger.
A spokesman for the soccer team said that passenger reached over the player Oliver Minatel's, seat and wrapped his headphone cable around Minatel's neck.
The man was arrested upon landing in Atlanta. The FBI told News that the suspect was transported for a medical and mental evaluation under the care of the Atlanta police.
