Quebec police arrest man for driving vehicle into cop car

Quebec's provincial police have arrested a man who drove into a police patrol car while both cars were driving on Quebec's Highway 40, just west of Quebec City.

It happened in the early evening on Saturday in the Fossambault area, near St-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Que.

Police spokeswoman Christine Coulombe said both vehicles rolled several times as a result of the impact.

Three people were taken to hospital, but they are expected to survive.

An expert in accident reconstruction as well as regional police investigators were sent to the scene to determine the course of events.

Police plan to interview the suspect to determine his motive.
