Vancouver's infamous 99 B-Line that packs people in like sardines on the perilous journey between Commercial Drive and UBC is hardly thought of fondly.
But bus driver Amrit Bains, who lives in Surrey, has a different perspective. He calls the 99B his favourite route to drive — and he's turned it into (a weirdly catchy) song with his (weirdly catchy) dance moves. (Watch video above.)
Bains was also kind enough to share the lyrics to his "Route 99" with us:
It's a long long bus with the joint in the middle..
It's a long long bus with the joint in the middle.
And people get amazed on the road how it wiggles.
To the left to the right then it goes straight..to the left to the right
then it goes straight
Not a bus it seems I am driving a snake.
And the Broadway's traffic is peace of a cake
When I go passing trucks
When I go passing cars
People say man o man you are a rock star
On my lips a keep a smile in the eyes keep a shine
And I really feel fine driving route 99..O I really feel fine driving
route 99- route 99 ehee route 99
Pleasure even goes higher more and more
When I pick up the people I open all the doors
Some find a seat some stand on the floor
But everyone is happy to just get on board
Some wearing nice suits some in the broken jeans
Hey I don't care who is dirty who is clean
I love everybody and you know what I mean
I know, to go through the day everybody is trying
And I really feel fine driving route ninety nine.
O I really feel fine
driving route ..Route 99 ehe route 99
All the beautiful ladies give me beautiful smile
All the beautiful ladies give me beautiful smile
I admit my head just spins for a while
But I peacefully tell them to move in the isle
And I keep on driving doctor Amrit Bains style
Hey I like the route so much that again and again and again I would sign
And I really feel fine driving route 99..o I really feel fine driving route 99
I am on the driver seat I am on the cloud nine
O I really feel fine driving route 99 Route 99 ehe route99
