Heinz Chicken with Broth baby food recalled over spoilage concerns

Heinz is recalling a chicken with broth baby food product because of possible spoilage, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

The recall of the Heinz Chicken with Broth product was issued Wednesday morning, due to "potential loss of seal [of the jars], causing spoilage," the CFIA says.

The food, which is recommended for babies six months and older, should not be consumed, says the agency, which says the warning was triggered by its inspection of the product.

The baby food, sold across Canada, could cause upset stomach, vomiting and diarrhea, although there have been no reported cases of illness, the CFIA says.

Details of the recalled Heinz Chicken with Broth item include:

- Size: 100 ml

- Codes on product: 2016SE26 and 2016DE12

- UPC: 0 571660 7
