Laval cyclist dead after being struck by semi-trailer

A 69-year-old cyclist has died after she was struck by a semi-trailer on Le Corbusier Boulevard, just south of Dagenais Boulevard in Laval.

The fatal collision happened shortly before 2 p.m. while both the truck driver and the cyclist were turning onto Le Corbusier Blvd. from opposition directions.

Laval Police say the truck was travelling eastbound on Dagenais Blvd., and as it turned south on Le Corbusier, it struck the cyclist — who was also turning onto LeCorbusier, riding west on Dagenais.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic is being diverted as police investigate the incident.

Le Corbusier is expected be closed between Dagenais Boulevard and Le Chatelier Street for several hours.
