With the sun shining and the heat rising, it's time to put on your running shoes and start sprinting outdoors — and why not? Marathon season has already started.

And if that's not enough to convince you to start running, researchers at Stanford University say running slows the signs of aging. In their 2002 study, scientists discovered elderly runners were likely to live a longer life and have fewer disabilities compared to aging non-runners.
