Lévis man tries to kill father in hospital palliative care

A man in Lévis, Que., is expected to be arraigned on an attempted murder charge in court Friday after allegedly trying to kill his father at a hospital.

Police arrested a 50-year-old Thursday evening after he was allegedly caught trying to end his 80-year-old father's life at Hôtel-Dieu Hospital's palliative care unit.

The man reportedly gave up peacefully after police arrived at the scene, and the father survived.

It is not yet known for certain why the son may have tried to kill his father.
