Man accused of burning Saskatchewan woman pleads guilty to attempted murder

PRINCE ALBERT, Sask. - A man accused of sexually assaulting and burning a homeless northern Saskatchewan woman has pleaded guilty to attempted murder.Leslie Black appeared in Prince Albert provincial court.Marlene Bird lost her legs and needed multiple skin grafts following the June 1 attack.The Crown says a charge of aggravated sexual assault is to be dropped.Black has been remanded for a psychiatric assessment.He is to return to court June 26.
