#PaintYourNailsForBruce Goes Viral On Instagram

#PaintYourNailsForBruce

Another Jenner has sparked a viral trend on Instagram -- but this time, it seems to be for a better cause.

Following Bruce Jenner's brave and emotional interview with Diane Sawyer on Friday, in which he revealed he is transitioning to live as a woman, people all across the world are showing their support, in the form of painting their nails.

#PaintYourNailsForBruce was started by Australian radio show, "The Kyle And Jackie O Show," where they encouraged men to paint their nails in support of the former Olympian.

This movement is fitting as Jenner specified he is looking forward to one very specific aspect of womanhood: being able to wear nail polish "long enough for it to chip off." Considering painting your nails is still (unfortunately) considered to be a "female act," getting men to participate will hopefully help remove that stigma.

And several men were quick to support Bruce by painting their fingers and (toes) with polish.

However, many were quick to shut down the hashtag, telling the radio show the whole idea is tacky.

Nonetheless, the radio show hosts feel #PaintYourNailsForBruce has had a positive impact.

"After watching Bruce’s interview, Kyle and I and all the KIIS team found it incredibly moving and we realised that this was a very real struggle that many face and there was a chance to inspire and support," co-host Jackie O told Buzzfeed. "It was Kyle who actually came up with the idea for #PaintYourNailsForBruce. He just genuinely feels that everyone has the right to be who they are and felt for Bruce."

Kyle Sandilands agreed, saying "there’s enough going on in the world without everyone being able to be who they truly are. It can take courage and we’re really impressed by Bruce’s."
