Prentice won't say why PC nomination candidate nixed; says it's up to him

CALGARY - Alberta Premier Jim Prentice says the party had good reason to disallow a candidate from seeking a PC nomination in Calgary.Jamie Lall says he was told he couldn't run against former Wildrose MLA Bruce McAllister in Chestermere-Rockyview.Lall says he was given no reason and has a text from former justice minister Jonathan Denis that suggests Lall was being set up.Prentice says Lall knows full well why he was pulled. But he says it is up to Lall to make those reasons public.Prentice says only a handful of potential candidates of the hundreds seeking to run for his party were rejected after careful vetting.
