Canadian Blood Services closes Prince George, B.C. donation clinic

Canadian Blood Services has announced it's shutting down a Prince George, B.C. clinic, as part of a decision to close or change services at several donation clinics across the country.

"There will be no impact on patient care; hospitals and clinics will continue to receive ample blood supply, as they always have," Ian Mumford, chief supply chain officer for Canadian Blood Services, said in a statement.

The closure leaves no permanent donation clinics north of Kelowna, despite calls over the past two years from several northern communities for more donation clinics.
