Star Wars theme played on Parliament Hill carillon bells

To mark Star Wars Day, as May the 4th has come to be known, the carillon bells inside the Peace Tower on Parliament Hill rang out the theme music for Star Wars today, among other space-related tunes.

You can listen to the music in the video player above.

It was part of a 15-minute carillon concert with a space theme that began at noon.

The concert included the Star Wars theme by John Williams, arranged by Janet Dundore; Princess Leia's Theme, arranged by Janet Dundore and Andrea McCrady; and The Imperial March, arranged by Andrea McCrady.

Other carillon music played today included:

- O Canada.

- We Are All Earthlings, by Jeff Moss and Sara Compton, arranged by Andrea McCrady.

- Fly Me to the Moon, by Bart Howard, arranged by Andrea McCrady.

- I Don't Want to Live on the Moon, by Jeff Moss, arranged by Andrea McCrady.

- Theme from Star Trek, by Alexander Courage, arranged by Andrea McCrady.

Star Wars Day has come to be celebrated on May 4 because of the catchphrase from the movies, "May the Force be with you."
