Plane crashes in Surrey near Highway 99

Surrey RCMP are responding to a small plane crash in a farmer's corn field on Colebrook Road near King George Boulevard and Highway 99.

Dave Rai, of Rai's Colebrook Farming, has told the CBC the plane went down on an empty corn field that was plowed yesterday.

Rai suggested the aircraft may have been a Cessna plane and says the whole nose of the plane is broken and mangled.

He estimated about 15 emergency responders were at the scene, as well as a helicopter, several police cars and three fire trucks.
