Driver's dashcam captures crash on Highway 401

An Ontario driver who stopped on the side of Highway 401 Wednesday to help a driver who'd crashed is lucky to be alive.

The driver's dashcam captured another car slamming into his car that was parked on the shoulder and spinning out of control.

"The driver that hit my car, she seemed to be uninjured, just dizzy. I have emergency strobe lights fitted to my car so when I do stop to help this doesn't happen," the driver, who goes by the name Squawk Features, said in the description of the video, posted on YouTube.

"I was told by a cop once that some people like to drive into the lights... Not intentionally but they stare at them and bang."

The OPP advises that if you see someone that needs help on the side of the highway,  make a quick note of your location, get off the highway and call from a gas station so that you don't put yourself in the position of potentially causing another accident.
