Official recount ends tie vote in Calgary-Glenmore; Alberta NDP win another seat

CALGARY - Make that 54 NDP ridings in Alberta.The party has added another seat to its already comfortable majority after an Elections Alberta official recount which shows the party won Calgary-Glenmore.On election night, Progressive Conservative incumbent Linda Johnson and NDP challenger Anam Kazim each ended up with 7,015 votes.The official results released today show Kazim had 7,018 votes, six more than Johnson — who could still request a judicial review.Outgoing Premier Jim Prentice is still listed as the official winner in Calgary-Foothills, even though he immediately resigned on May 5 after his PC party's devastating loss.Elections Alberta says Prentice has not yet submitted written notice of his intention to step down in the riding.
