Saskatoon plant evacuated after hydrochloric acid spill; unknown if anyone hurt

SASKATOON - A Saskatoon plant has been evacuated after a large hydrochloric acid spill in an industrial area in the city’s north end.The fire department was called just after 9 a.m.It's not known if anyone is hurt.Hydrochloric acid is clear, colourless, and has a pungent smell.It is a highly corrosive, strong mineral acid with many industrial uses.A spokesperson on scene said the investigation has started but would not say what caused the spill.(CKOM)
