Man dies in Junction rooming house fire

One man is dead after a two-alarm fire broke out around midnight on Dupont Street east of Dundas in Toronto's Junction neighbourhood.

Firefighters were called to the semi-detached house that Toronto Fire believes to be a rooming house. The fire had broken out on the second floor.

The man was found on the third floor, without vital signs, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fire department has not yet released any details about the cause of the fire. They are investigating whether the smoke alarms in the complex were working at the time.

Fire crews are still on scene. They closed Dupont from Edwin to Symington.
