RED DEER, Alta. - A psychiatric assessment has been ordered for a woman accused of stabbing a nurse at the hospital in Red Deer, Alta., earlier this year.The assessment ordered by a judge on Wednesday will determine whether Meghan Claire Dion is fit to stand trial on charges of attempted murder and assault.The 34-year-old was arrested after a woman identified by authorities as Dion's mother was allegedly attacked on Friday, March 6. Police have said a suspect was taken into custody the following Sunday in a vehicle that had allegedly been stolen.The nurse was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.Dion will return to court June 24.
