Sorel-Tracy deaths under investigation

Two people were pronounced dead on Thursday morning after being found inside a Sorel-Tracy, Que., residence.

Provincial police said they received a call around 7:45 a.m. reporting two people had been found injured inside a single-family home on Napoléon-Laplante Street in Sorel-Tracy, about 100 kilometres northeast of Montreal..

"There, the police officers found two wounded individuals. Finally now we can confirm that the Sûreté du Québec is investigating the circumstances surrounding two deaths," said Sgt. Joyce Kemp of the SQ.

She would not confirm whether the two people were dead when police found them inside the home.

The ages and genders of the victims have not yet been confirmed by police.
