EDMONTON - New Democrat Rachel Notley has been sworn in as Alberta's 17th premier, bringing to an official end nearly 44 years of Progressive Conservative rule in the province.Notley took her oath on the steps of the legislature building in front of hundreds of people who stopped to watch on a warm, sunny day.The NDP ousted the Tories from power by winning 54 of the 87 legislature seats in the May 5 election.More coming.
