Native American student to don eagle feather at graduation after agreement with school

SAN FRANCISCO - Attorneys for a Native American student and officials with a California school district have reached an agreement that allows him to wear an eagle feather to his high school graduation.

Christian Titman sued Clovis Unified School District California because it refused to let him wear the feather to the ceremony on Thursday.

But a judge on Tuesday suggested the two parties try to reach a resolution.

Rebecca Farmer, a spokeswoman for the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California, one of the groups representing the 18-year-old student, says the parties reached the agreement allowing him to wear the feather late Tuesday. She offered no other details.
