Wedding season is already here — your social media feeds are probably filled with wedding rings, wedding trailers and constant photo updates of grinning couples.

While all of us can appreciate someone else's big day, going through wedding season single or alone isn't always easy.

"On one side, we are happy for our friends who are taking the next step in life, and on the other side, it highlights that we are still single and no closer to finding someone," says Dana Michel, CEO of new dating site Marriage Material.

These mixed feelings may either make you jealous, worried or negative while you're at someone else's wedding. Michel adds you may also feel bitter towards the couple, even if you consider them close friends.

But the season of tying the knot can also include multiple (and expensive) events like showers, bachelor/bachelorette parties or other religious ceremonies. If you're feeling overwhelmed with several invites this summer, don't be afraid to decline, Match.com notes.
