Surrey shootings lead to arrests linked to low-level drug war

Police say two people remain in custody in connection with a string of recent shootings in Surrey and Delta, B.C.

More than 50 police officers carried out four different search warrants at properties believed to be linked to a low-level drug war on Thursday.

"Four adults were taken into custody," says Delta police Acting Sgt. Sarah Swallow.

"At this point, it looks like two of the adults have been released but two of them will likely be facing charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act."

There have been more than 30 shootings in Surrey and Delta since March 9. Police have said rivaling groups of low-level drug dealers are engaged in a turf war.
