McKenzie, who works for TSN in Canada, is the winner of the Elmer Ferguson Memorial Award for excellence in hockey journalism.
Nickson is the winner of the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award for outstanding contributions as a hockey broadcaster, the Hall announced Thursday.
They will receive their awards at the Hockey Hall of Fame NHL Media Awards luncheon on Nov 9 in Toronto.
McKenzie joined TSN in the late 1980s and is considered to be one of the most connected and trusted analysts covering the sport. Nickson has called more than 3,000 games for the Kings over 35 seasons.
The Elmer Ferguson Memorial Award is presented by the Professional Hockey Writers' Association and the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award is presented by the NHL Broadcasters' Association.
The Hockey Hall of Fame induction weekend begins Nov. 6. This year's inductees will be announced June 29.
