Barbie Can Finally Ditch High Heels And Wear Flats

After five decades of high-stepping through the world of fashion in heels, Barbie can finally switch it up.

After five decades of high-stepping through the world of fashion in heels, Barbie can finally switch it up.

The iconic doll, who's known as much for her completely unrealistic body proportions as it she is for being a style trendsetter among girls, now comes with adjustable ankles, meaning she can wear flat shoes for the first time ever.

The new version of the doll is part of Mattel's 'Fashionista' line, which includes dolls with eight different skin tones, a choice of 23 hair colours, 22 different hair styles, 14 facial types and 18 eye colours. The new dolls are meant to "represent the world girls see around them."
