Union protesters to greet Ontario Liberals at annual general meeting

COLLINGWOOD, Ont. - Ontario Liberals are expected to be met by large protests as they flock to Collingwood for their annual general meeting this weekend.The Ontario Public Service Employees Union, which has protested at several Liberal events this year over its bargaining with the province, is planning a rally today.The union says the protest will coincide with the start of the annual general meeting and members will be demonstrating against the Liberal government's plan to sell a majority of Hydro One. On Saturday, teachers are planning a protest to coincide with Premier Kathleen Wynne's speech inside Blue Mountain Resort.The Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario says it will send busloads of members to Collingwood to protest the government's bargaining with teachers, including the province's use of back-to-work legislation at three boards for high school teachers.At the annual general meeting the Liberals will be voting on Wynne's leadership and attending sessions on how to help federal counterparts during the upcoming election and looking ahead to the 2018 provincial election.
