Chances Are You Don't Wash Your Towels Nearly As Often As You Should

There's no better feeling than stepping out of the shower and wrapping yourself in a plush bath towel. But if you've been using the same towel all week, it might not feel as nice... or as clean.

In the 33-second video by Buzzfeed above, we learn the amount of times it is considered OK to use a bath towels between washes. And it's nowhere near as many times as you think.

Because of their thickness, bath towels absorb and retain moisture, leading to bacteria buildup, odour and mold. But if you're surprised by how often experts say you should wash your bath towels, you'll be shocked by how often you should be washing hand towels.

According to Today, hand towels should be washed every one to two days, due to their frequent usage. And while soap and hot water are recommended for all your linens, laundry expert Mary Marlowe Leverette suggests giving towels some extra love by replacing liquid fabric softener with a cup of vinegar to strip away any lingering odours.
