Snoop Dogg appeared at Toronto nightclub where shots fired overnight

One person was taken to hospital following an early-morning shooting outside a Toronto nightclub hosting an appearance by American rapper Snoop Dogg.

Officers found several shell casings outside Bloke on King Street West, between Charlotte Street and Spadina Avenue, after people reported hearing gunshots. A white Mercedes was surrounded by shell casings, said CBC's Tony Smyth.

No one suffered gunshot wounds.

Police wouldn't comment on the nature of the injuries of the person taken to hospital.

No arrests have been made.

Snoop Dogg is in Toronto as the headline performer at the after-party for the Joe Carter Classic Golf Tournament, which began Tuesday June and ends Wednesday.

Earlier Tuesday, he threw the opening pitch at the Blue Jays-Miami Marlins game won in the bottom of the ninth inning by Toronto.
