Woman suffers 2nd-degree burns in downtown fire

A fire broke out on the top floor of the three-storey building on Drummond Street north of Ste-Catherine Street just after 5:30 a.m. this morning.

It took 30 firefighters a little over an hour to bring the fire under control, said a spokesperson for the Montreal fire department.

One woman suffered second-degree burns and was taken to Hôtel-Dieu hospital.

Drummond Street was closed to traffic. The cause of the fire is not known.
