Jean Dore, Former Montreal Mayor, Passes Away From Pancreatic Cancer

He was diagnosed with cancer in 2014.


MONTREAL - Former Montreal mayor Jean Dore has passed away from pancreatic cancer.

Dore, a two-term mayor, passed away today in Montreal.

He was 70.

He'd been diagnosed with cancer in 2014.

Dore was a founding member of the Montreal Citizens' Movement municipal party in 1974.

He was elected twice as mayor — the first mandate coming in 1986 following the retirement of Jean Drapeau, who'd spent the previous 26-years as mayor.
