Liberal critic calls on general to resign after harassment comments

OTTAWA - The country's top soldier is facing questions this morning about how serious the Canadian Armed Forces are about tackling sexual harassment in the military. In an interview with the CBC that aired Tuesday, Gen. Tom Lawson, the chief of defence staff, said some male soldiers are "biologically wired in a certain way" to make them believe it is OK to force themselves upon female soldiers.Lawson has apologized for what he called his awkward characterization, saying his reference to physical attraction as a factor in sexual misconduct was not meant as an excuse for harassment.Liberal defence critic Joyce Murray says Lawson should resign immediatelyTransport Minister Lisa Raitt says she is at a loss for words over Lawson's chosen "verbiage."Justice Minister Peter MacKay says Lawson feels badly about his choice of words during the interview..
