VANCOUVER - Switzerland exited the Women's World Cup on a classy note Sunday — with a thank you to Canada.In the wake of the Swiss 1-0 loss to Canada in the round of 16 at B.C. Place Stadium, coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg made a point of taking the microphone at the end of her post-match news conference."I would really, from the bottom of my heart, thank the Canadian audience and the Canadians," the former German international said via an interpreter. "We had a lot of fun in Vancouver and in Edmonton. And we found everyone is very friendly. The welcome was fair and welcoming."Thank you very much. You're an amazing country. Thank you."Voss-Tecklenburg left the room to applause from reporters.The 19th-ranked Swiss made it to the knockout round in their first visit to the World Cup.
