Shannon Phillips isn't saying whether the announcement will contain new rules for greenhouse gas emissions from the oilsands.
She says it will outline how the New Democrats plan to involve industry, environmental groups and all Albertans in the conversation on structuring the province's climate change strategy.
Premier Rachel Notley has said the strategy will be developed in conjunction with a royalty review for the energy sector.
That review hasn't begun.
Speaking at a meeting of provincial environment ministers in Winnipeg, Phillips confirmed that the government will renew regulations on Alberta's current carbon price when it expires at the end of June.
