Arrest warrant issued for 19-year-old Calgary man in death of businessman

CALGARY - Calgary police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for the arrest of a 19-year-old man in the slaying of a businessman during a robbery last year.

Maqsood Ahmed was carrying cash and receipts when he and a female coworker closed up shop on Oct. 8, 2014.

Police say he was approached and attacked by two men who robbed him of his cash and then stabbed him.

Ahmed, 55, was taken to hospital and later died from his injuries. The woman was not injured.

Jean Bertrand Havyarimana of Calgary is now being sought on charges of robbery and second-degree murder.

Last week, police charged Lloyd Kollie, 19, with robbery and second-degree murder in Ahmed’s death.
