Queen Elizabeth Park zipline to open on Canada Day in Vancouver

After months of speculation and delays over permits, the temporary zipline installation celebrating Queen Elizabeth Park's 75th anniversary will open to the public on Canada Day.

According to Flightlinez Greenheart — the company operating the attraction — starting July 1, the zipline will be open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. PT until the end of October.

Thrill seekers must weigh between 60 and 250 pounds and can expect to pay between $12 and $20 for a ride, depending on age and whether the ticket was purchased online or on site.

Riders, hanging from a cable by a harness, will launch from a temporary tower on the west side of Bloedel Conservatory at the top of Little Mountain in the park.

They will zoom 190 metres over the park's manicured gardens — a popular spot for wedding photos — and land southwest of the garden.
