Wall will come down to make room for hyperbaric chamber in Moose Jaw hospital

MOOSE JAW, Sask. - Saskatchewan's health minister says a spot for the province's only hyperbaric chamber has been found in the new Moose Jaw hospital.Dustin Duncan says a wall will be knocked down to make room for the piece of medical equipment. But he says that won't delay the hospital's scheduled opening in October. He says the chamber unit likely won't be finished until the end of the year. The pressurized chamber is filled with oxygen and is used to treat carbon monoxide poisoning and help heal wounds. There was criticism when the government said there might not be room for the chamber in the new hospital and it might be moved elsewhere.Premier Brad Wall said a few weeks ago that the debate over the chamber had provided a lesson for government and it would remain in Moose Jaw.(CKRM)
