Pan Am Games: Tickets 25% off on Canada Day as competition nears

Tickets to watch some of the country's top athletes compete at the Pan Am Games will be cheaper on Canada Day.

CIBC, one of the main TO2015 sponsors, is offering anyone 25 per cent off tickets purchased between July 1 at 10 a.m. ET and July 2 at 9 p.m. ET using the promo code: CIBCPANAM.

Other organizations have been offering similar deals in recent weeks.

Pan Am organizers said earlier this month that 650,000 of the 1.4 million tickets have sold.

While that's far from a sellout, tickets to some of the most in demand events are already gone. Among the sellouts are: the opening ceremony, gold medal games for men's baseball, soccer and basketball.

Tickets have completely sold out for several other sports, as well, including BMX and track cycling, the equestrian events and water-skiing and wakeboarding.

The Pan Am Games will take place from July 10 to 26, and the Parapan Am Games from Aug. 7 to 15.
