2015 Summer Trends For Women: 4 Must-Have Items For Every Closet

4 Must-Have Summer Items For Every Closet

Canada Day has come and gone, but there's still plenty of time to get your summer style in gear for the remainder of the season!

In a new video, ModaMob outlines its four must-have items for the hottest time of the year. Not only are the suggestions on-trend for 2015, but many of the pieces might already have a place in your wardrobe.

Melissa Moylan, trends director at Fashion Snoops, tells the news outlet these summer staples can be found at a wide variety of price points and for any body type.

First up on the list? Matching sets, with or without a print.

"Committing to a print isn't always easy, but once you find one, go all out," said Moylan, who also pointed out that each separate piece could be mixed or matched with a neutral staple, or other complementary patterns of varying subtlety.

These co-ordinated looks can often be seen on stars like Victoria Beckham or Taylor Swift, who prefers a crop top style.

Jumpsuits are another piece that remains in style, and according to Moylan, it has "fully transitioned to a novelty item to a wardrobe staple." Further to this, Laverne Cox and Jenna Dewan-Tatum both rocked different one-piece looks this week, to the BET Awards and the London premiere of "Magic Mike: XXL" respectively, and subsequently made The Huffington Post's best-dressed list.

Diane Kruger also knows how to work a jumpsuit, and showed off the versatility of her ensemble by pairing it with a straw hat and vintage sunglasses at the 2015 Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in May.

Much like jumpsuits, the platform heel is back again, and shows an evolution from the always-in-style wedge while building off the spring 2015 trend of 70s chic.

But if you're searching for something to pair them with, why not try a slip dress?

Work-appropriate when layered and flattering to all figures, Moylan calls the slip dress a flirty and "easy summer style that transitions from day to night."
