Vancouver's record dry conditions lead to tough new restrictions

Metro Vancouver officials are escalating water restrictions in the wake of a record breaking heat spell, that's not over yet.

The say public fountains on streets and in parks must be shut off and spray parks limited. Lawn watering will be further limited - and Metro Vancouverites are urged not to wash cars, limit power washing and cut back further on watering lawns to no more than one day a week.

Metro Vancouver officials have announced reservoir levels now at 79 percent.
